Prices
Prices quoted are valid for 30 days and are based on the requirements
provided by the client. If these requirements change, Abacus Design
may re-quote.
Payment
Abacus Design may require an up-front deposit for some
services, if applicable this will be outlined in the quotation. Invoice
terms are 14 days and are to be paid by the methods listed below. Payment
must be made in full before the website is loaded "live" to
the internet or a copy made available to the client. The completed website
will not be uploaded to the client's website until payment has been received
by Abacus Design. Payment methods accepted are:
- Cheque
- Direct Bank Account Deposit
Payment for domain registration and website hosting are required in advance.
All payments must be in Australian dollars.
Changes to Submitted Text
Text submitted to Abacus Design is expected to be the
client’s final text. Time required to make substantial changes to
client-submitted text after the pages have been constructed will attract
additional charges, billed at the current hourly rate. Minor changes are
handled as part of the normal development process and included in the
quoted prices.
Errors & Omissions
Abacus Design will use good faith to ensure pages authored
by us are free of errors. However, Abacus
Design may not be held responsible for any errors that may arise
in the course of authoring any pages. Abacus Design does
not accept any liability for losses or damages arising from errors within
any page.
Abacus Design will correct minor text changes at no
charge for 30 days from the date the site is posted to the web hosts server.
After 30 days, changes will be charged at the current hourly rate.
Modifications to Website Code
Abacus Design cannot accept responsibility for any
alterations made by third parties to the client’s website pages.
Copyright of Content
The client unconditionally guarantees to Abacus Design
that any elements of text, graphics, photos, designs, trademarks, or other
artwork supplied to Abacus Design by the client for inclusion
in website pages are owned by the client, or that the client has permission
from the rightful owner to use each of these elements. The client will
hold harmless, protect, and defend Abacus Design from
any claim or lawsuit arising from the use of such elements provided by
the client.
Under Australian Copyright Law, copyright protection is automatic, no
© symbol is required. For Artistic works (such as paintings, drawings,
cartoons, sculpture, craft work, photographs, maps and plans), copyright
lasts from the time the material is created until 50 years after the year
of the creator's death.
Copyright to Website
Copyright to the finished website produced by Abacus Design
is owned by the client. Upon final payment, the client is assigned rights
to use and/or modify the website as required. Abacus Design
retains the right to display graphics and other web design elements as
examples of their work in their portfolio.
Links
Abacus Design reserves the right to append a small
hyperlink to Abacus Design’s website at the bottom of each page.
Search Engine Submission
Abacus Design offer free optimisation and search engine
submission, plus advice on how to achieve high rankings. However, Abacus
Design provides no guarantee of search engine positioning or
the time between submission and listing.
Return of Material
Any material supplied to Abacus Design by disk or original
copy will be returned to the client.
